Accredited Online Universities

All online colleges and universities are not created equally.

Some are nothing but scams and the diplomas that they issue are probably worth less than the paper they are printed on. These bogus degrees will not open the doors that lead to better jobs and bigger opportunities.

They will only take the hard-earned money of those who fall for their schemes.

Colleges and universities, both online and off, are accredited when they meet certain required standards of the educations that they provide to their students.

Just like there are colleges and universities in the real world that do not have accreditation, there are online colleges and universities that are not accredited either.

Accreditation is probably the single most important factor to consider when choosing the college or university that you will attend -- whether the school is housed in real brick-and-mortar buildings or on web pages on the Internet.

Online colleges and universities very proudly announce that they are accredited.

They never hide the fact and you will not have to dig through many pages on their websites to determine whether they are accredited or not. The same is true for brick-and-mortar colleges and universities.

They will say that they are an accredited institution. They will shout it from the rooftops.

Being accredited is a very good thing and a real selling point so learning institutions, both online and offline, will not hide the fact that they are accredited. They may well hide the fact that they are NOT accredited, however.

Hiding the fact that an online college or university is usually done by using very slick and flashy advertising. They will never say that they are NOT accredited, they will only NOT say that they are accredited.

If the website that you are looking at for an online college or university does not say in big letters and upfront that it IS an accredited school, keep looking.
